Overview

Founded in 2005, Hanwha Advanced Materials America, known earlier as Hanwha L&C Alabama, which in turn was known as Maxforma Plastics LLC at the beginning, opened its doors to a new facility in December of 2005. The facility represented an initial capital investment of $17 million, with employment exceeding 100 associates when fully operational.
Construction of the new plant began in May 2005, with completion in December 2005. Hanwha Advanced Materials America facility occupies a 35-acre site within the Northeast Opelika Industrial Park, located along Interstate 85 at Exit 66, and will initially cover 80,000 square feet.
At the end of 2008, Hanwha Advanced Materials America acquired the GMT business unit from Azdel.
