Responsible Care

Hanwha Advanced Materials America has taken a proactive approach to environmental, health, and safety management. In May of 2007, Hanwha began implementation of an ISO 14001 environmental management system. The decision was made in March of 2008 to also include health and safety and develop a comprehensive Responsible Care management system.

The American Chemistry Council (ACC) has developed the standard of Responsible Care (RC 14001) primarily for the chemical industry. Responsible Care management systems offer an integrated and structured approach to drive results in eight key areas:
Employee health and safety; pollution prevention; energy efficiency; process safety; security; product stewardship; community awareness and emergency response; and distribution.

Hanwha Advanced Materials America is not a part of the chemical industry; therefore has gone above and beyond what is required by acquiring this certification. Hanwha Advanced Materials America was proud to receive certification to the RC 14001:2005 (including ISO 14001:2004) standard in November of 2008.
